But did Joker know Bruce is Batman?

He MUST have known? Because the partay was in Bruce's crib; and Bruce wans't there.
By process of elimination; Bruce MUST be Batman.

And why didn't Bruce show Harvey Dent his own face? Especially when he almost shot Thomas Schiff and acted like a lunatic?

Hard to say, especially with his kidnapping of Rachel. Of course on the surface that only means he knows 'Batman' cares about her a lot and wants him to suffer.

And why didn't Bruce show Harvey Dent his own face? Especially when he almost shot Thomas Schiff and acted like a lunatic?

This question I don't even understand. How would he benefit from letting Harvey know his identity at that moment? "Oh you're actually Bruce Wayne, I'll stop acting like a lunatic"

"I know you're Bruce Wayne, so I better not kill Schiff since you're funding my campaign."

Seems like a high risk for a not guaranteed reward.

Schiff is in zero danger.

Dent's coin has two faces. It would NEVER land on tails and so he was never going to shoot Schiff.

But Schiff doesn't know the coin has two faces. Dent is scaring him with a bluff.

Hence the whole "I make my own luck".

reply

I don't think so. He probably would've taken advantage of that knowledge had he known.

He wasn't looking for Bruce. He wanted Harvey. Everyone else was immaterial. For all he knows, Bruce was just hiding some where.

Don't forget, Harvey wasn't there either. And Joker admits he thought Harvey was Batman at the party.

Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead.

reply

That wouldn't be a good process of elimination.

Someone known for flying over rooftops could've entered the building some other way than through the front door with the other guests.
