The part when the are in the woods and they get in those wooden baths....that looks so cool. Are there really these things out in the woods for anyone to go & use, or are they connected something that we never saw in the film, like part of a park or somone's home???
If you'd stayed to the end of the credits you'd have seen there were a few specific comments about the place, notably that nudity & alcohol apparently aren't permitted there! I remembered the name of the place - Bagby - & googling turned up a couple of informative links re location, how many baths & how to fill them etc. Wish I lived nearer, I'd love to go! (I'm in Manchester, England so nowhere near!)
That last one ends: "Please Remember: Clothing is optional; Treat the facilities, springs, plants, humans and other animals with respect." after recounting terrible tales of car thefts & tyre slashings, is nowhere sacred?
Main issue seems to be it's too popular & so harder to 'get away from it all' & no doubt after the film this will be even more true.
Hope that helps from an armchair travel perspective! Anyone out there able to give me & shes dead a first hand account?
They are about a mile and half walk from a parking lot to get to. They are almost never empty, and sometimes it's quite a wait to get into a tub. Also nights, especially on weekends, are filled with loud drunk people. Still every bit as beautiful, though.
