DVD Release Date? - Old Joy (2007) Discussion

I have been trying to figure that out myself, will let you know if I find anything, please do the same.

Here is my guess...

The way it usally works is it is released very limited. After a couple months the indie movie theaters will pick it up (if it does fairly well in its limited release).

Once it has played for awhile expect the DVD release

So in conclusion... Not for awhile

It is touring Art Houses right now. It plays in Cleveland 3 times in December. Here's the playdate website:

Someone in the know told me the release date will be in April/May. I work for a movie theater and I found this out while doing the booking. See it in a movie theater if you can, though--it's a really touching, affecting and beautifully shot movie.

I hope this one goes straight to Criterion, btw. Kino and Criterion seem to have a good relationship and this would make a great addition to their collection of fine films.

I'd be the first one to buy a criterion of this, that's for sure. Man, I've been aching to see this film again ever since I walked out of the theatre. It's been years since I had the same feelings for a movie like this, and to think it's a contemporary film. Amazing! :)
