The first mainly, as it's all about setting up the story and the characters. I don't enjoy gore at all but of course that's an essential ingredient of the story!
shareThe first. I wouldn't have minded so much if the comedy and horror were mixed in like Severance. But this seemed to start off as a dark comedy with a horror attached on the end, rather like Shaun Of The Dead. The only part of the second half I really liked was:
"Who do you think lives here?"
"Old MacDonald"
"Who's that?"
"Shut up!"
The ending scared the living poo out of me as well!

Very disappointed by this film. First half was boring and badly acted. Ellison was just annoying. Always a fan of over acting and the excessive screaming was why I gave it as much as 3/10. Second half was the better of the two, but all in all, disappointing.
shareI definately preferred the first half, much funnier as the second part was a bit gory
God Bless

I guess it's all about what you wanted from this flick. I saw it at the Brussels Fantastic Films Festival, along with a gore AND dark humour loving crowd, and the audience reacted very well to both parts. I mean, people were laughing in the first part and clapping in the second, everytime "something" got chopped off (which was often intended to be funny). About the qualities of this movie, it's not that usual that you see real character building in a slasher, is it ? And the gore was well done although never overwhelming due to the offbeat humour always attached.
Personnaly, I still think I prefered Severance, but this one didn't let me down either.
Severance is sooooo funny!

Sure you did. I'm 100% convinced.
And I still don't like the film.
LOL
shareI prefer the 2nd part. The first part was good, but i was beginning to be bored. It's remind me of From dusk till dawn. The movie begin with something totally different.
shareFrom Dusk Til Dawn messed with me in the same way as this did. FDTD started off as a road movie and then switched to horror with no warning. Hate it when films jump from one genre to another. Don't mind it when genres are mixed together though.

Hehehe! He seems to fancy himself a bit, doesn't he? Cheech Marin and Danny Trejo were cool in it though.

I liked the first half, it was funnier. But the whole thing was pretty good.
It is so much easier for me to laugh at British comedies, that accent is a riot.
the first half is the best IMHO, its great character/situational comedy, and got a lot of laughs from me, it was ok overall, i was suprised at how much i liked it!

The first half was excellent. Sharp script and good acting performances. The second half is run-of-the-mill horror but it still made me laugh in places.

dividing this flick to two halves seems to be extremely pointless excercise, from the beggining to the very end film was a spoof; creators are sucsesfully taking a piss out of the gore genre and that's all, good entertainment though
shareI loved BOTH! The first half sets up the whole reason and plot for the movie. I am a hardcore horror fan so I also loved the second part. The kills in this movie were great. Overall this was an amazing film. I usually like foreign horror but haven't followed BRITISH horror that much. Because of this movie I will def keep and eye out on the British horror flicks!
shareLoved the whole thing, but the 1st part really rocked...
Too weird to live, to rare to die!
