I thought for a sub-genre horror comedy, this was pretty damn good. I thought the laughs where spot on, and you just had to laugh at what a bunch of screwups the three guys where. I also thought the kills and gore was on point, and the story and script where very entertaining. And, I loved the outta nowhere ending. Check this one out, horror fans. Cheers.
There's a lot of bad horror comedies out there, so it was refreshing to find one that was actually shot well and had solid acting. It dragged a bit in the middle, but mostly I enjoyed myself.
I have to agree, I thoroughly enjoyed this film, the dry and sometimes dark humor was right on just like the brits do. I also thought the horror elements were well done as well, some suspensful moments and I thought by using the humor in places it kept me off kilter where they were going to attempt a scare.
Very very enjoyable film. Brilliantly written relationship between the two brothers and several laugh out loud moments. Also had a nice feel to it. I preferred the first half to the end but the whole thing was good.
Some people have mentioned the excessive swearing but I really think it was done well and added to the comedy in places.
*just* now got finished with it. Ok - hubby thought it'd be a serious horror, i was pleasantly surprised to re-read the label & notice it's a Black-Comedy (teheh my fave). SOO He fell asleep 15 minutes into it. Me? I'm lovin' it and wanting to buy it. Seriously, though? Black-Comedy/Horror-Thrillers are one of my favorite genre blends. agreed it was fun to watch all those goof-balls mess up trillions of things even *i* would've thought of. i did guess when the knife was coming through the door to almost impale Peter's head (lol) but that's the thing about comedies that parade as horrors LOL :)
IDK- i loved it, but i love Andy Serkis & picked it only b/c of him, actually. The lighting was great, the camera work wonderful, script was - obviously - full of stuff we all coulda guessed but as i said this movie doesn't take itself seriously (look at the subgenre for God's sake), acting was great.... music was spot on superb in really getting the funny points across.
Also! I got feeling i should watch this even *past* the credits---- so yeah everyone, watch it PAST the credits... ALLLLLL I'm sayin'.
Ta! & Yeah, i'm gonna help this movie along by word of mouth, word of YouTube movie review, & by buying it (in other words, payin' 'em back & endorsing the people who made it & the material). I love this stuff & want more of it! :)
Gotta agree with that. I just finished watching it and came here to rate. I can't believe it's only 6.2 ! I really didn't know what to expect, and I must say I had a really great time with this movie. The mixed genre was really interesting, the acting was really good, the scrpit and directing got the job done. Music could've been better for sure, but all in all it was very entertaining.
Not me. I thought it was boring and predictable. The cutesy British humor got old fast and the plot went nowhere. Why bother to set up plot points and characters if you have no intention of following through to some degree? The horror scenes were all taken from much better horror films. I fought to stay awake and my fatigue was the only thing keeping me from turning this garbage off.
