He was great. When he said "The following conversation never happened..." he sounded like one of those Onstar commercials!

"We pretty much make our living on crazy."

He did well here and he also did a great job as JFK in 13 Days.

My one problem with his character is when he's kidnapped. All he'd have to say is that the wall closed behind them and they had to find another way out. The Secret Service agents with him knew he was there and he went of his own free will, so where was the kidnapping? He still could have told Ben where the book was and both walked out of the tunnel like nothing happened.

reply

Just another plot hole, best to ignore it.

He's definately up there with Bill Pullman and Morgan Freeman as best of the Presies.

I was wondering the same thing about the kidnapping. Why didn't he just say it was all an accident? He is the President after all.

I guess he likes to motivate people by putting them under pressure.

reply

It's so they could have the police chase Ben, etc.

Bruce Greenwood is always watchable.A good actor who is very handsome.

My problem with the movie is that Ben, now apparently a recognized and respected treasure hunter, can't just drop *any* of the people in the movie a note along the line of "I have reason to believe that clues hidden in/on XXX will lead to the biggest discovery of the 21st century. Do you want in?"

Heck, that goes for the Yul Brenner lookalike, too.
