In 2008, when the Major League Baseball All-Star Game was hosted at the old Yankee Stadium, model Statues of Liberty were spread out all throughout the cities' five boroughs. There was one for each of the 30 major league teams plus one for the National League, one for the American League and probably a few more I can't think of at the moment. It almost became a scavenger hunt game, to find them. There was one right outside the Modell's in Time Square, the Mets one was down by the giant Barnes and Noble, not far from Madison Square Garden (a bit strange since that's nowhere near Queens, where the Mets play) and I came across the Phillies one, as well. Never found most of them. I was busy and it's a BIG freakin' city. It would have been one thing to look up where they were on-line and find all of them but to randomly stumble upon them? Not likely, at all. Plus, some of them might have required me to go into areas that I would have no interest (aka been pissed scared out of my mind) to travel into (the north Bronx--no place for a little white guy from the 'burbs).
