i never understand why he couldnt havejust said straight away the door closed by accident i wasnt kidnapped instead of letting ben be a fugitive

He probably wanted Ben to go on his adventure, to make history under his presidency. Ben is compelled to find the City of Gold to not only clear his family name, but, supposedly at the time, corroborate the story that he kidnapped the president for this purpose.
It seems like everyone uses Ben.
