On TV instead of theatrical release?

Since this film is being made by Hallmark, does that mean it will be shown on TV rather than released in the theaters?

As far as I know,

So does that mean it's likely to be broadcast in the States during the May ratings sweeps?

The timing would be right...

Anyone know when they will anounce the air date for this movie?

Yes, it does help. Thankyou!

I also confirmed it with his agent... Yes, it will be out on the 17th in the UK. No news yet on the US.

For everyone overseas, you will be most likely seeing a longer version of the miniseries, probably in two halves; for everyone in the US, a shorter version in one part. But don't worry, because Hallmark has been pretty good about releasing the long version on DVD for everyone.

Thanks. I'll mark my calendar.

in the uk it's being broadcast on easter sunday

Just seen a trailer for the film on SKY and it looks like an Indiana Jones rip off.

reply

yeah - a poor man's indy

reply

saw it last night, dubbed in spanish, very poor. Caspers acting appears almost as bad as in Shark Attack

reply

I saw it 2 days ago, in Spanish, and I personally found it quite entertaining. It´s just that everything looks a bit more Indian than Egyptian - it was filmed there in India but that should have been solved. Anyway, for me the movie was pretty ok. And some of the actors do help.

I am anticipating the air date. I have marked it on my schedule, my calendar, and as a reminder on my cell phone so that i can not miss it. I think it will follow suit of all Casper's films, and blow me away. Casper is such a remarkable actor, and i have not found a film yet in which he has disappointed me in his skills. I am 100% positive that i will be astonished by this film. Casper in my opinion only does films in which is god given talent is truly shown. I can't wait!

reply

I honestly do like Casper and some of his movies, and am interested in ancient Egyptian culture- so I enjoyed the movie- but there is no way that this movie, which was clearly made for TV would have made it in theaters. The effects were about at good as "Clash of the Titans"...
