Isn't it a little funny that Laura actually managed to accidentally kill two people in this movie?? Shouldn't she have been put to court and be convicted of homicide? :) And please don't argue on pushing the word "accident". She killed them I tell you. So much more like homicide due to reckless imprudence.

Regarding Benigna's death... the driver of the van that hit her was probably put to trial. I'm not exactly sure what they could have charged Laura for since all she did was ask "Benigna?" once from a distance and the only witness of her saying that was likely just her Carlos. Is that even a crime?
Uh, no. She didn't kill Benigna, the big van did.
Also, she didn't even know that the secret basement was even there, so of course it was a complete accident. She killed Simon, but completely accidentally.
