Clichés, more clichés and then somo more clichés...

old house, little kid seeing things adults can't, dolls, old footage, husband doesn't believe her, old wall clock, the medium, masks, the boy's drawings, not to mention 1000 horror movies "references"... The only things missing were a music box or a broke old vinyl record. NOTHING in this movie was original, NOTHING. Even the shots, camera work, music, acting, all a big cliche.

What you call "cliche" I call "classic."

The first Star Wars got the same criticism. Some saw it as nothing more than a rehash.

The only things on your list that qualify as cliche are the first two. But, the movie rocked it.
