after watching Fast 5, I have to wonder
Why does Han still need money. I mean he has 11 million and yet he still has to "steal" soto speak the money that is owed to DK's uncle.

shareMaybe he put 10.9 million on red and it came out black.

It looks like he went to Germany with his new girl so I assume like the others he spent money before going there.
2. I assume he sent money for his cousin’s medical bills the one from Better Luck Tomorrow since everyone is positive that Han is the same character.
3 I can also assume that he had to pay some kind of Tax in Japan to the yakuza in order for him to stay on his territory.
Plus we see him with all his cars in his garage in this move.
he went to spain with his new girl. there is no point in pointing out all of the plot holes between this movie and the others. the only tie in it was given to the rest of the franchise at the time was dom showing up in the end. but since they have decided that 3 wasn't enough and they needed to create some more stories between 2 and 3 everything gets super jumbled up. anything could happen between the end of 5 and the beginning of 3.
shareBecause you can imply he didn't like how DK got most of the money from him doing the work. Car parts aren't cheap...
sharehave you not seen the stories of STAR pro ball players going broke, even after getting 30 and $40 million contracts? people who don't manage their money most o the time blow it all
shareI think he did it for fun...like his reason for drifting, i think he did things for the thrill of it
shareFirst off, it was 10 million not 11. He lost in that race they had for 1 million each.
Secondly, as you would've noticed before they raced, he said something along the lines of making things interesting and living life (might be a foreshadowing of him dying in Tokyo Drift). Anyway, clearly this shows that he was in it for the thrill and the fun and didn't care much about money. 10 million dollars is pretty easy to spend when you're buying fancy cars and driving around with a pretty (high maintenance) girl in your lap.

Idiots
if you really want to be technical with the money.
in Fast five, they only stole $90 million (not $100million, there were 10 cash houses, each with $10million, but they literally burned the first $10million). split between 10 people (Dom, brian, Mia, Rome, Tej, Han, Gisele, vince, and 2 other guys). it's $9 million each, plus han lost $1 million on the drag race, so technically he has only $8 million.
I agree. I just seen Tokyo Drift on tv again and thought why cut some of the takings when you have a few million tucked away? You can see in the film hes spent some dough on cars and motorbikes (and tyres from all that drifting). I guess he was doing all the wheeling and dealing to keep himself entertained but still why steal and cause so much aggravation? Also why drive off and get killed when you can easily pay it back. I guess thats Han haha.
sharethought Han died in Toyko Drift... how does he turn up in 5... or are they in order? And if 5 comes before TD why does he need to steal with 10 mill????
shareI guess they where not supose to make 4, 5 and 6, or at least not the way they did with Dom and all, after the first 2 movies... Dom/Diesel probably said yes for a cameo cause its like what... maybe an hour of filming at best with all the retakes and all? So well since the series got back on the road with now know, i guess its safe to assume Tokyo Drift happen like WAY LATER, especially since Han says "we will go... someday" or something like that. Plus he don't have the chick anymore with him, so it mean its later...
Truth is... better see Tokyo Drift as some stand alone in the franchise...
Four, Five and Six take place before Tokyo Drift.
shareHan doesn't need money if you pay close attention. In the scene where his group is playing soccer, and Han and Shawn are up above talking, Shawn asks Han why he was allowed to race his car, stating that it was obvious he would wreck it and it was a lot of money wasted.
Han's exact response was, "I have money...etc."
He also explains that Tokyo is his mexico. He states in both F&F4/5 that he will one day travel to mexico, and we are to assume the events of the next movie or two will drive him there. Now that he's for the most part stuck in Tokyo, he chooses to stay in Yakuza territory so the police don't come snooping around. He explains this in a scene between him and Shawn when they're driving.
His business in the movie is there for two reasons
1. To keep cash flow continuously coming in
2. To use half of that flow to pay off the Yakuza so he can live in their territory
Its possible that he just like the rush of doing business and taking money here and there.
share::SPOILERS::
Han has said money doesn't matter to him, also he customized a lot of cars and bikes as see in his fully stocked garage in TD, Han also has to pay the Yakuza money to live in their territory and is shown to like thrills and fun which would use money up very quickly.
Han's fate is shown in Fast 6 as well since Justin Lin has departed from the series and we have seen "Han roll with Dom" in 3 films now, Fast Five even mentions Tokyo and Han says "we will get there eventually". Remember Han is alone in Tokyo and seems to be in hiding as well from the little he tells Sean.
"Always two there are , a master and an apprentice"
