better as a stand alone film?

I give some reasons why i think TD is better away from F&F franchise..

The film got a lot of flack because it neither starred Diesel or Walker (who wanted to do a 3rd film). I agree it would've done better had it just been Tokyo Drift.

reply

While the 3rd film is one of the weaker ones but it does have a cult following of sorts since it is a pretty decent film.

Agreed with the op!

Tokyo Drift is criminally underrated as an entry in the Fast & Furious series. Too many people just can't seem to look past the fact that it doesn't have the original characters. And I'm like, Why not just appreciate it in its own right?

I like it as part of F&F, but they need to bring Lucas Black back into the story. Stop ignoring him or his character.

The biggest thing about your article that caught my eye was the idea of making Tokyo Drift its own independent storyline. I'd totally be down with that, provided the scripts are good. Dom and his crew could be doing what they do all around the world while Sean is having adventures of his own in Japan.

Exactly Lucas Black did a great job in Tokyo Drift. I think the one poster was right he might be to similar to Paul Walker so they didn't feel the need for Lucas since Paul was back. Tokoyo Drift is 2nd favorite in the F&F series. He should show up on the team in part 7 that would be crazy.

While Tokyo Drift has its flaws, I can watch the movie 100 times. I wish the film was written better than it was.

Lucas Black's character was probably one of the most realistic and relatable characters in the series.

Whats the point of a signature?

reply

I hope not; I really like TD the only thing I didn't like was Lucas Black. I even think the character they wrote is more realistic and probably would have been easy to relate to but his acting killed the character. If you re-watch it you can almost see the hate in Neela's eyes cuz shes flirting with a mannequin.

reply

Well, it is a stand alone film in my opinion. That is why it didn't kill the series. There is no Fast & Furious movie without Dom or Brian. This truly was its own movie.
