For those of you that have watched all Rambo Films was Rambo 4 better than Rambo 5?
Was is better to stop at Rambo 4 or was Rambo 5 a satisfying conclusion?

Of course it was. Rambo 4 (aka John Rambo) is one of the best movies of the 00's (along with Sin City, Munich, Casino Royale, Zodiac...). It would have been a perfect way to end the franchise, but nooo, greed won in the end.

I preferred the fifth one. I liked the ending better.

For Rambo 4, Stallone needed to realize that constantly watching bodies getting obliterated gets old after a while. I think he said he was inspired by the omaha beach scene in saving private ryan, but that scene ended after 20 mins while rambo 4 just went on forever. If you watch the 80s rambo films, it's just people getting shot and falling over - no bad guys turned constantly into lasagne.
