Missionaries more interested in making converts or just plain helping?

That is what I find very bothersome about some mission groups. Tehy are more interested in getting people in thinking like them then really helping them. For instance, would they try to help if the people wanted to stay Buddhist or something not like they were? I'm not just talking about this movie but in real life.
Many Christian groups(especially Evangelicals) seem to only want to turn people into ones that think just like them. Its not about the person but more about thought.

help is a bribe.. it is for you if only you would...

Ha, you missed one consideration - I think the primary interests of these types of people are:-

1. Gaining an interesting dinner party discussion piece (that they'd really rather not talk about but invariably will, at great length, and which will turn to all their suffering).

2. Making converts.

3. Helping people.

The people in the village they went to already were believers...so just in case your asinine anti-theism wasn't inaccurate enough as it is, that fact makes it even more so.

Apologies - it's impossible to judge if your reply was intentionally directed at myself or actually meant for the OP, as neither post makes any anti-theistic point whatsoever, "asinine" or not...
