shareI found his character fairly unbelievable. Yes there are sanctimonious people like him in the world but they usually set their standards by what they read in the paper from the safety of their armchair. I find it hard to believe a guy who was on like his third or fourth trip into a war torn country could be so naive as to A) Not realise that violence occurs and it's kill or be killed and B) That he thought Rambo gave a crap who he reported anything to!
I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time Del Boy, it's them that started me drinking!
... well, didn't the film give that missionary his comeuppance when circumstances forced him to fight at the end...? A character gets transformed by his need to fight for his life and the lives of others...?

The Bible doesn't say killing is always wrong...it says murder is. Not all killing (like self defense or the defense of others shown in this film) is murder/sinful.
There are plenty of dangerously naive people out there when it comes to the (necessary) use of force to combat atrocity that the movie was rightly cautioning people against.
