Where's Col. Trautman?

Yes, I know Richard Crenna passed away in 2003 of heart failure but Rambo never mentioned anything about his character when Julie Benz asked him questions. The only time we see Trautman its in the flashbacks but that doesnt explain what's happened to him..

According to Stallone he said Trautman passed away when Crenna did.

I guess he's right. No one had wanted to see a different actor play Trautman..

IMBb's Trivia: James Brolin was attached to play Col. Samuel Trautman after Richard Crenna died of pancreatic cancer in 2003, but the role was written out of the script. Sylvester Stallone considers the character to have died on the same day as Crenna, who appears in an archival flashback in John Rambo (2008).

James Brolin would have been a good choice though...
