Loved the scene...
...where the daughter writes "I wish" on the window of the cabin.
sharei watched that scene again, i think she actually wrote "dad"
shareAt the end she wrote dad, but at the beginning she wrote I wish.
shareActually, I believe mingholio is correct. I didn't recall her writing "I wish" before she wrote "dad." So, out of curiosity, I went back and watched just that scene again, starting from when Jesse wakes up and gets out of bed. The shots of her at the window are intercut a bit with Ryan Reynolds' & Stuart Townsend's shots, but she never wrote "I wish." However, I've only seen the DVD version... I missed it in the theaters. Maybe they were edited differently.
ETA: Forgot to respond to the original post. I liked this scene, as well. Yes, it was formulaic, and you certainly knew where it was going. But for all that, it was well done & very sweet. The actress in the role of (young)Jesse did a good job, playing it naturally rather than going for the Oscar.
no. rodsta69 is correct. there is another scene near the beginning of the movie. watch the dvd again.
the scene you are talking about mingholia-2 though is not in the cabin but at the attic window in the family's house.
Ah, I see. My mistake. I had completely forgotten where that last scene tied into the earlier scene.
shareI liked that foreshadow scene up in the attic when she wrote 'I wish' and then topped it off when she wrote 'dad' in the final scenes.
