Does Jesse know the truth? (Spoiler)

If Frank is supposedly telling this story to his daughter's fiance, he's also telling him that he's not really her dad. I'm not sure that's such a smart move if she doesn't know...

I think that she knows, but it's also not really the point. If my father turned out to not be my biological father I wouldn't care all that much. I love my dad, he took care of me when I grew up and that other guy would have never been around. Just like how Susan tells Frank in the end that he was the one who stayed up with her at night when she had a fever and took care of her. Being a biological father doesn't count. What's really important is who was there for you when you were growing up and raised you like a father.

the ellipsis was a stupid idea

I know the point, I'm just saying that she might not know. Near then end of the movie they kind of lead that since everyone is ok with the situation, that they would just leave it at that. That doesn't mean that they would tell her. I was thinking that if he was telling his daughter's fiance, he better have told his daughter so it doesn't come out the the wrong way. I've seen situations where people know things like that but the person who it involves doesn't. The observation really isn't that important, I was just commenting on it.

BTW, my parents aren't my biological parents and it makes no difference to me because they are the only one's I've known. But for some people it does matter.

From what I gathered, I'm sure Jesse knew. But that doesn't mean she's told her fiance about the whole crazy story. Even if she had told him, Dad's perspective of the story was what was pertinent at the time.

i thought it was a "this is between men" sort of talk with the husband.

but i could be wrong.

because buddy was sitting in the parents/grandparents seats at the wedding.

interesting.

I got the feeling that she knew. I got the impression because the friend, Stuart Townshend's character, was present and seated next to the parents of the bride, as though he belonged there, not as a guest. Plus, he escorted the mother of the bride while Ryan Reynold's character escorted the bride.

But, I could be wrong. :)

But is Frank even really telling the "truth"? Did he just make up to story to keep his little girl happy? He did lie about the "talk" or "walk" cards.. Just a thought........

reply

I think it's made clear at the end of the movie that Jesse know knows the truth about her father.

She knows
