reply

Doesn't even begin to make sense.

reply

I can just as easily say that you just don't get it! Stick to Disney movies eh?

reply

I get it and like the OP I still think it WAS a load of rubbish.. pretentious piece of crap... trying to pass as... art.

I don't think it was either rubbish or art. Nor do I get the sense it was intended to be art. It wasn't overly 'artsy' and the themes and dialogue/monologue seemed fairly typical of the genre -- ennui and social disconnect and a sort of introspective humanism are par for the course here. Without the weight of expectations brought about by accolades from the festival circuit, this movie would be a relatively benign entry into the annals of post-modern existentialist cinema. Since it's hardly fair to judge it on any merits than what's presented on the screen -- inflated audience expectations aren't actually part of the film-making process, after all -- I'd say this movie is exactly what it claims to be: a narrative of a young man dealing with the loss of his girlfriend and the skewing of how he interacts with the world via a pathology of artistic sensibilities and romantic needs. Nothing too complicated about that. It's just your basic romance cum personal odyssey.

Pardon me I wasn't expecting anything when I started to watch the movie, I just read the premise on Netflix and put Play.

I judged the movie just by watching it, that's all and I still think it was complete rubish, a narrative filled with nonsense, jokes where they weren't supposed to be, scenes out of place and a disjointed script, I didn't liked it at all and that's all there is to it.

Movies can be judged in a majority of ways but generally, when you dont like it, there is nothing more to say about it, after all, the taste is something personal that deeply affects what you think about the movie.

For me, it was tedious as hell, if I wanted a nice narrative I could watched Stand by Me again and i would be 100 times more entertained and fullfilled than watching this... piece of crap passed as romantic pseudo soft-porn artistic garbage.

I'm honestly not sure how you manage the intellectual contortions necessary to go from the first part of what I'm quoting to the second part. It's rather impressive in the same sense that any sufficiently audacious bit of illogical transition is impressive.
