Supernatural Music and Budget?

A thought just struck me about the sets, that since around season 8 when the bunker was introduced we thought yeah the boys finally have a base, a place they can call home? This further lead me to thinking more recently about the sets and that we don't see as many hotel rooms any more. So this thought further lead me to thinking about the Supernatural budget in general and leading you've guest it to help pay for playing more music on the show. Over the years this has really been lacking when you re-watch episodes its plastered with music across it. Now we have dead pan ZERO!

I seem to remember on a convention panel this subject about music was raised and Jensen did respond by saying that it was coming back. This was around Season 8/9 at the time. Now the Bunker is a much more prominent figure and we don't have the budget spent on designing hotel bedrooms, where does this money go? Why don't we have more of this money spent on our music. I miss hearing music on the show, as Supernatural scenes blend so well with certain songs.

How do you feel about this topic, and how SPN budget is spent in general?

The actors salaries which grows each and every year. The crew, they have crew members that have been there since day one. I agree I miss the classic rock songs as well. The special effects. I don't know how much their budget is, but budget gets bigger every year. Yeah I agree the bunker was created to save money, which is awesome. But we did just get the guess who- no time in last weeks episode. Hopefully more are on the way.

I know what you mean. I do miss the music, it was a big part of Dean's character that he loved classic rock. I guess it is more expensive to license music, also in this day and age of streaming, I think if Supernatural is on Netflix it costs even more to license the music so if you ever watch SPN on Netflix those music moments are filled with generic rock riffs.
