Supernatural Season 1 Episode 1 Wendigo MovieChat Discussion Thread.

Something I've thought about lately is what we could do during the summer? I love to look back and reflect about a particular episode. Maybe watch an episode a week together view it if you can during that week and we could come back here and talk about it. Listed below is a random topic of questions where a debate could chatter away about these issues listed. If you have your own questions let me know and will add it to the discussion question list. So each week I will load up a new episode where we can natter away. I think it will be fun to remember and raise the odd question we might not have thought about before.

We could maybe discuss our

favourite scene from that episode
What we liked about that episode and what we didn't
What did we think about the writing, what could they have maybe done differently
What did we think about the direction of the storytelling
What scene didn't you understand and need clarification on

I'm in - I wanted to join the episode elimination game but wasn't at all certain how it worked!

Ok, so how did you feel about this episode on the first watch and after multiple watches?

reply

It was a defining episode for me, the first episode I watched when it aired but didn't then continue. A couple of years later a friend of my daughter lent her the first two series on DVD which I then started watching, again I wasn't that impressed with the Woman in White and then came Wendigo and I was totally hooked and have been ever since. It was the beginning of the learning about the characters and showed many traits that we continue to believe they have - including I may say that Sam can be a bit selfish sometimes! It was exciting, with some horror and I loved the interaction between Dean and Sam, already they were quite obviously clicking as actors and it made them as brothers totally believable to me.

Please do! Whatever questions you have, just ask, and I'll try to answer them. Otherwise, it's just going to end up being my favorite episode, and I already know which one is my favorite . . . or at least my top 10.

I loved Dean in this episode. I didn't really have any qualms. Before we saw the wendigo in the mines, did it remind anyone else of the Predator?

reply

Clue I totally agree with you. I thought Sam was well done also, getting back to hunter mode and dealing with is anger about Jess. I love Dean's campfire talk to Sam. It did have a Predator feel to it.

"Saving People, Hunting Things...The Family Business" the most iconic line in all of Supernatural.

I used to do a summer rewatch of the entire series but there are just too many episodes now. Now I do favorites of each season.

There are certain episodes I do that as well, kinda my personal greatest hits. I guess after rewatching Wendingo it just got bumped up. Season one was usually Pilot, Home, Devil'sā€‹ Trap were the ones I rewatched the most.
