New board, new season, new thread. Thank you, Bella, for the idea.

This is the appreciation thread for all the things that we love about the Winchester brothers and the pair of Texan BFFs who portray them, aka J2.

Rules:

- you must love both Sam and Dean. You don't have to love them equally, but if you don't love them both, flaws and all, this isn't the squad for you.

- you must value the bond between the brothers as an important element of the show and of their characters.

- and finally, please be polite and respectful of the views of others, this is supposed to be fun!

The beginning of S13 is going to be really interesting. Dealing with the loss of both Cass and Mary is going to hit them hard. I think both will withdraw in their own different ways from everyone until something happens to get them back into fighting team.

I read a theory that I would like to see. Sam and Dean figure out how to open the rift (into Riftworld) and they find Mary and Bobby have teamed up. Mary wants to stay and help the people of Riftworld because the real world already has Sam and Dean, she is more needed here. Mary problem solved. In that world they have killed Lucifer...second problem solved.

I would also be fine with Lucifer getting stuck in AU world with Mary, Bobby and Rufus!

I'm positive they will try to rescue Mary. I can't see them not trying. I'm not sure yet which way I want that to end. It wasn't until S12 E22 that I understood why she kept them at arm's length. It was her guilt about taking the deal with Yellow Eyes and her fear that they would reject her because of it. When Dean said "I forgive you", I started crying too and then when the threesome hug happened it was full circle for them.

It was the opposite for me as I was groaning when the hug happened lmao. I didn't feel like anything had been resolved or that the moment was earned, but then again, I expected to be annoyed with whatever redemption scene they tried to pull with Mary because I don't believe she can be redeemed or deserves to be around her children.

I just wonder what the nephilim is going to do to Sam since they're together in the nursery. He doesn't look trustworthy and I always believed he was evil.

I've been thinking this a bit too Vee. I thought for a minute, not more Sam being taken prisoner they've beaten this one to death. But I can see him, without a doubt, causing some aggro it's only expected. He oozes naughtiness and has that look about him. I think that's why Sam looked terrified going into that room because he didn't know what he was gonna expect. We never know, they might get on, they might hit it off straight away. But do feel he is evil to start off with. They always are on this show. But hoped with Kelly's influence during his birth that might turn it around and he turns out decent. Hoping that he brings Cas back, still.

lilmac I am with you about Mary. And got the same thing. I think she was also fearful that YED in some form would come back and kill her. I think she is terrified of this, or hurt her sons again.
