Was it worth bringing Mary Winchester back?

At first, I had HIGH hopes for MW and thought they could create something rather special with the Winchester Brother's mother. But now I feel it's been wrecked. I think they've destroyed her by turning her into a brainwashed robot with a killing attitude doe X Machina freak. Who ends up turning on her own sons. What are the writers thinking about in wrecking a decent seemed to be a character in the pilot who was shown to care honestly about her sons. It sickens me they've turned her into a robot reversing her memories and torturing her. I am finding BMoL's a waste also, but that's for another thread. I never wanted to sound negative over Mary as I think Samantha Smith is a lovely actress underneath it.

Just wanted to know if your thoughts on this area as negative as mine. Or a bit more positive.

It depends on what they do with her from here on out. If they kill her off never to be seen again - big waste of time. If they do something with her next year after her massive fall from grace this year, then I might think it was worth it, but only if we actually get to see Mary as a person with layers.

It was one of those brilliant ideas that no one really thought through. Bring her back, but what to do with her? They've failed miserably and now I can never enjoy the early seasons any more.

I hope she floats back up to heaven at the end of this season. There's no redeeming her now.

Agree. What they did to this beloved iconic character was just down right appalling.

It's so sad, how such a once devoted mother can be turned into that. I thought our writers were more creative.
