Best and worst bits about season 12?
Give me three things you love about this season so far.
And three things you really disapprove of.
Love reading your views ...
Throw them at me!

I'm surprised no one commented yet...
I disapprove of
>this British Men of Letters storyline - I thought it was OK cliffhanger at the end of S11
>Mary, I thought it would be interesting to see Mary with her boys, but Mary is like a grown up Claire (OK, maybe not) but she's just as annoying
>Not enough "MOW" - there were a few that I really liked, but not enough/or at least not what it used to be
What I love, like, enjoy
>Sam and Dean/Dean and Sam - This show wouldn't be around without these 2 and I think that's why a spinoff will never do
>The little "shout outs" to the previous seasons - Like Dean getting to be Dean, finally bringing back the cult, carving their initials in the table at the bunker, etc. Little things like that. Would like more Sam/Dean looking out for each other - if that makes any sense.
>Glad Cas/Crowley are still around, but for wish they got better storylines
There is nothing I love about season 12, so I'll take those three and attach them to the disapproval column.
I disapprove of:
1. The demotion/deconstruction/virtual elimination of Dean Winchester. He literally could and probably should be written out at this point since his presence makes no difference as he's not allowed to do anything or interact with anyone week after week after week after week.
2. Super-Duper Sammy Sue, which comes directly as a result of Dean being a big ol' nothing.
3. Mary Sue Winchester and the complete trashing of the original character Kripke created and whom Dean loved all these years, apparently now for no good reason as she didn't deserve that love nor even wanted it.
4. The refusal to let Lucifer go/and Rosemary's baby.
5. The BMoL - seriously, these characters are lame and I don't know WTF this storyline is even about, other than it makes no sense.
6. The glorification of the GotW - goes hand-in-hand with #5 - and making them more important than the original leads, and a LOT more important than one of those leads, Dean Winchester.
PAForrest I agree whole heartedly with your list.
shareThings I like of this season. 1. Regarding Dean episode. Will go down in my all time personal favorite episodes. 2. Rowenas` change . Let`s hope they keep her this way. 3. The Twins . They have some great potential with those characters.
shareI agree with all three of your likes this season.
ETA: My 3 dislikes:
I'm waiting to see what they do with Dean to decide whether or not I hate the way he's been written this season. If this is leading somewhere big for him, I can live with it, but until then, I'm just waiting for it to come to something . . . and waiting and waiting.
I hate that Dean and Sam are working with the BMoL.
I hate what they've done with the characterization of Mary.
I hate that Lucifer is still around. They ruined him last season and then went ahead and ruined all the work that went into putting him back in the cage in season 5 with that stupid egg.

I've seen the "twins" mentioned before, and I swear it's a testament to how boring and unremarkable this season has been that I couldn't pull these two out of a line-up if my life depended on it.
Regarding Dean was certainly IMO one of the only highlights of the year - but that's not so much due to the writing as to the acting in that episode, because the writers this show has are mostly subpar. But it's a testament to how much Dean still means to the show that an okay at best episode that focuses on him - as pretty much the only episode in the entire season to focus on Dean - jumps out more than not among viewers.
I don't care what Dabb's personal beef is against the character, or maybe even the actor at this point, but the show falters and feels very one-dimensional whenever Dean isn't involved or isn't being written in character.

What I love
- Sam being more badass after being tied up by LadyDie.
- Sam killing villains
- can't think of anything else. That's how boring this season has been.
What I dislike
- Mary's story. She had potential but it was all wasted.
I could make them all Dean related but I am going to combine them to one each
Love
1. The only four good Dean things I got this season. Dean killing Hitler, the leadership and knife fight
in Asa Fox, all of Regarding Dean and the two minute Dean and Lucille bit.
2. Mick- Only good thing in the BoL storyline. Had the potential of being Sam's Castiel.
3. The Colt- always loved it.
Hate
1. Everything PA said about Dean. He has been completely misused and under developed this season.
2. Mary aka the worst gift ever. They unrealistically elevated her to super hunter with a better kill
score then any season Sam and Dean have been in combined. Hate Mary Sue's.
3. Sam as writers pet. Giving him all the kills and having to explain that each of them is the greatest
"whatever" is making me resentful of the character. This is the first time I have ever felt that way
even when past showrunners leaned Sam.
Love:
1. "Regarding Dean" episode
2. No more Sam and Dean contrived angst (writers listened to us finally)
3. The twins? (Everyone loves them apparently. I cannot even remember who they are)
Hate:
1. The BMOL (bad accents and bad storyline)
2. Mary. I once cared. Now I want her dead and gone. Thanks, show.
3. Lucifer - too much.
4. Crowley - too stupid.
5. Cas - too de-powered.
The twins? (Everyone loves them apparently. I cannot even remember who they are)
OK, I think I remember now. The BEST BIT about that episode was Dean crashing through the door like he meant business. We've hardly seen that Dean at all this season.
shareDean was great in that episode with the way he crashed through the door, the way he had that knife fight with the demon, and then the way he lead the other hunters. He started disappearing after that until the Regarding Dean episode when he didn't remember who he was, and then as soon as he could remember who he was, he disappeared completely. I think (hope with all my fingers crossed) that's intentional.
shareI just hope it's because Jensen was distracted (justifiably so) and he will step up like he has in the past. The same thing happened with Gamble but it was a unified front. Sam and Mary are being written as the heroes of the show now so Jared may be just fine with the new status quo.
