Can't see any comments on the latest episode so thought I would post mine:
Just watched it – pretty boring, I caught myself several times looking away as I had lost interest.
That whole first scene with Crowley and Lucifer was written in such a clunky way that I actually cringed for Mark Shepherd having to deliver something out of such drivel.
I absolutely loath the Mary part now, was on the fence about her coming back but I almost hate her now which is ridiculous for a TV character!! I think that Dean is the most divorced from Mary at the moment in the sense that he is more wary about her, Sam is being written it seems to me anyway, to be going out of his way to be empathetic with Mary and wants to believe that she is his “Mom” in waiting.
Hope they – Sam and Dean – latch on soon to how bad the BMOL are, I really don't want that to be strung out any longer. Hope also that Mary goes to Britain with the BMOL and carries on hunting there!! But I guess we are going to get lots of angst for S/D with Mary in the middle somehow, whether it be pitching them on different sides of is Mom good or bad, and she needs another chance or one agreeing to work with her and the BMOL or some other way to cause angst amongst the “family” can't wait NOT. Another things I really, really, really (and more really's) hate are the Weapons – I think the writers have made a HUGE mistake with this taking us back to the deus ex machina scenario.

I pretty much agree with everything you said. I'm hoping that Mary gets resolved this season never to be mentioned again (for a character that was beloved Dabb has turned her into one I despise). The BMOL's has been strung out too long with no payoff. They've done horrible, unforgivable things and so far no one knows about it but us. That story needs to end this season as well. And as much as I love Mark Pellegrino Lucifer needs to be tossed into the empty (along with Babifer) never to be mentioned again.
For all the promises from Dabb that he wasn't going to retread old storylines all we have gotten so far is a retread of old storylines. The only storyline Dabb doesn't seem to want to retread is anything that directly involves Sam and Dean. We have had ONE episode since DCMS that had any meaningful conversation or recognizable connection between the brothers.
I agree about all the magical lweapons (and with the BMOL's we are going to get more I'm afraid). I want to see our brothers in real peril. No more Get Out of Jail Free cards.
How I miss Carver and Thompson right now.

I get what you guys are saying. But we know how this show LOVES to write ANGST and DRAMA. Dabb has been NO exception to that rule and I think he's following CARVER without any doubt. I think Mary is a pawn in a small pond right now, and I think they are playing a dangerous game with her. I still get the feeling they are not sure where she is heading yet. Mary is a difficult one to understand. She wants to bugger off and be on her own, then comes back with burger and beers hoping that will smooth over any cracks. I do love Samatha Smith and never thought I would say that. But I don't like the lies, hiding stuff behind the boy's backs, like the colt, new weapons and training with MoL. It all stinks a bit. I hope she no's what she's doing. Will it backfire on her come end of May? Will the boys want nothing more to do with her?

As for S&D's relationship they are both very different. Dean is more, shady and Sam desperately wants her attention, from the mother he never knew really until now. She presently is helping him fill in those missing blanks. I don't want this ending in misery for either brother. But I can see on the horizon it might end up being so....
