Good show, could have been better, too much soap opera

So, I just finished the season.

This is a good show but could have been much better. I like the characters. I liked that it had kind of dark theme, dealing with a serious issue.

They went wrong in focusing too much on the relationships between the characters and not enough time of the actual "Invasion".

Not once during the show did they ask, "Where the hell did these things come from? What is the purpose?"

Other than that, it is still very watchable and well done.

Too much time on characters? Sorry, but that is what made me enjoy Invasion. It wanted to develop interesting and likable characters, and we journeyed with them into something mysterious where there were no answers waiting just around the corner, just as it would be in real life if such a thing were to happen. The whole show was asking these questions, and in time it would have been revealed. Sadly, audiences who want too much too fast as too quick a pace didn't have the desire to let things unfold as they will. Invasion would have worked well had it been made about 15 or 20 years ago, before audiences stopped caring about slow builds and started demanding action and major reveals in every episode of a show they watch. Look at the new version of V, the very antithesis of this show...fast paced and trying to do way too much too fast.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

I agree. The slow movement kept the show creepy and mysterious. The only thing I don't like is that when Mariel started doubting Tom, she kissed Russell. That whole part just seemed so hokey. Throughout the course of the show the audience is led to believe that Mariel and Tom have some deep connection and yet she goes off and kisses her ex husband, whom she barely ever gets along with, when things get a bit rough. Aside from that I thought it was great. It was an interesting storyline and the actors were great (especially William Fichtner). I like how they kept the audience guessing about Tom's motives and how much he really knew about what was going on. It was a well done show that should've stayed on the air, but there just weren't enough viewers. Sucks for those of us who loved it :(
