Just re-watched series one and forgot what a brilliant show this is, a great balance of drama with fleshed out characters and comic relief
Speaking of which, you know the chocolate Brenda keeps hidden in her desk, which she eats in private when proud of herself? I think it happens a few times and always makes me laugh, but it also looks so yummy! I'm assuming it's an American teacake or something?

That's a Hostess "Ding Dong." Ding Dongs are chocolate cake in a hockey puck shape that has been entirely dipped in thin chocolate icing. When you bite into it, there's a white whipped sugar cream filling in the center.
If you're outside the U.S, you might have missed the recent controversy when Hostess was in bankruptcy and stopped producing their snack cakes, including the famous Twinkie, which is a long, non-frosted sponge cake with that same white creamy filling. Following a huge outcry and lots of funny news stories about Twinkie hoarding and eBay Twinkie auctions, I believe Hostess has started producing Twinkies again.
Oh my, sounds very interesting indeed! I don't think they have Ding Dongs in England people must have missed their Twinkies! They do look yummy though.
