Is it just me or does Brenda threaten people with the Death Penalty ALOT?
I have noticed in almost every interview with a suspect she mentions the death penalty or a lethal injection. I know California still has the death sentence, but I have never heard another US Cop show mention it as much as this, if ever!
I guess it's just a very extreme measure when trying to put pressure onto someone.
It's merely an interrogation scare tactic; the probability of being executed in California is very nearly zero. The state has the death penalty on the books but legal action instituted a moratorium on executions in 2006. The 1976 Supreme Court decision stopped executions in California, which were reinstated in 1977. Since then 13 executions have occurred at an estimated cost of $4,000,000,000 to the state. No wonder California has budget problems.
