What's really sad

in the penultimate episode when Willie Rae departs this life, is that Clay's breakfast is going to be wrecked. Every time I see him beating the hell out of that pancake batter, I want to yell at him. Surely he knows that you're just supposed to give it a good stir to moisten the dry ingredients and that leaving a few lumps is perfectly acceptable. Those pancakes are going to be as tough as shoe leather once the grief-stricken get around to eating them. Sad.

has it ever cross your mind that maybe Clay was never a good cook to begin with and that it was always Willie Rae who did most of the cooking for him?
