The Character Changes from The Closer to Major Crimes

So I'm watching everything backwards. I am up to date with Major Crimes and just started watching The Closer. I can't believe how vulgar Provenza, Julio, and Flynn are in the first season of this show!! Gawking at a 16 year old girl!!??!! It's like watching totally different guys from Major Crimes. They're perverted, inappropriate, and juvenile. Flynn is vindictive and mean too!! I hope this show has them evolve more and I assume they do because they are completely different and very lovable characters on Major Crimes. It's such a shame to see that they started off in the gutter.

I did the same recently. They all mellow bu the seventh series though. Sharon will be a bit of a shocker for you when she first appears though, be prepared for that one.
On a side note, isn't Julio so much more attractive with hair?!

I think one of the points of The Closer was to show how she gradually had a positive effect on them and vice versa. (Of course, you could say that about any show that values character development ...) Also, I think, to show that many professions still *are* a boys club, and how shocking it is for all involved when a woman takes on a position of some authority -- lots of resistance to her, and lots of unpleasantness *for* her (like being called a b-tch to her face in s1e1).
