Can't believe this is going over people's heads

He obviously was in love with her. This is cemented with the story at the end about the disciple having the dream where it says it was the most beautiful dream and he is crying because it can never come true. The dream was being with the girl. No ambiguity whatsoever.

A Bittersweet Life (2005) -7 outta 10 stars

The dream was living a different life, of it's own. Like the girl had.

How do you come to this conclusion?

Watching the movie.

He was NOT in love with the girl. The girl just opened his eyes to a different life. The girl was the symbol of the impossible life that was not for him, and he understood that.

reply

Yes I understood the movie in the same way, never thought he was in love with her

reply

totally agree, he knew he could never have her cuz she loved the other young guy so he thought he might as well go for revenge killing all the guys who hurt him, even if it meant probably dying in the process.
