Anyone else think they took the "guy turns violent to protect the young hooker he likes" thing from Taxi Driver, or is it just me?

Actually, as previously mentioned, it's closer to Clancy's Without Remorse novel.
shareI was racking my brains trying to remember how old Jodie Foster was in TD whilst watching this.
Two for flinching!
It reminded me of Taxi Driver too, because in both movies the men and girls get better acquainted in diners. Maybe Antoine Fuqua intended it to be an homage.
except that in Taxi Driver it was all in his dreams
so many movies, so little time
taxi driver is more realistic.. this movie is for fun
