The 4.7 it has on IMDb is ridiculous. It's not a movie I'll die on a hill defending but it's a fun 00s slasher. Gorgeously shot with some entertainment value. Well worth a late night drunken watch for horror fans over the Christmas season.

I even see some on here prefer this over the 1974 movie. I'm not one of them (I chose my username here due to my love for the 1974 movie) but I'm not one of those guys who always worships the original, I prefer many modern remakes myself (The Hills Have Eyes, Evil Dead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc) so I get it.

I've seen it four times. It's a 6/10 from me, a reasonably fun Christmastime watch.

It's terrible. It's not as if the original is so ingenious, but this stinks at every level. Bad story with bad pacing, no suspense and uninteresting kills, bad acting, ugly and dark cinematography, awful camera work and the satirical humor doesn't work either.
