I watched this again and noticed that the bath mat was neatly over the trapdoor entrance when David found it, but someone had been in to put the apple on the sink. How did he close the trapdoor and still leave the bathmat neat?!

It's feasible. the did this many times and i'm sure they figured out how to fix it while going back down.

Maybe they glued it onto the door? I dont know. Im watching it now!

A piece of string threaded through the crack of the door to tug the mat back into place was the old trick with rugs over hidden trapdoors.
