I can't even watch movies like this anymore.

I first saw this movie when I was in the 7th grade and I loved it. Watching this movie years later I got visibly upset. I have to give it to Luke Wilson he was possibly the smartest character I have seen in this genre. With that being said they still had opportunities to escape but don't. Even though the cops still came, the woman not telling the dispatcher the name of the motel was risky, or not to request more than one cop. The old police officer was just the icing on the cake. I know its a small town and he was ready to retire but he was shaking in his boots. I mean come on, the tapes were scary but you are supposed to be professional I am sure in all of his years on the force didn't he at least see dead people. And then the shot gun was stuck in the seat? I mean what? This movie could have ended right then and there bust a cap in the bad guys but no, because this is Hollywood were logic clearly does not exist we are going to stretch this movie even longer. If I were them I would have trashed the place just for putting me through hell. The ending was still good, keeping the tradition of the woman saves the day, which I like☺ but it seems like women are always saving the day in this genre.

Note to self whenever you see a real life Ned Flanders shamelessly listening to screaming sounds at maximum volume it pretty safe to assume that you shouldn't be staying there.
