We need more movies like this.

Films made in the ideal of the Classic Hollywood, studio era productions of the 30s, 40s, 50s, and early 60s. This movie was a bold experiment, but they could have taken it a lot further by making it indistinguishable from the old classics.

Smaller aspect ratios, prominent staging, strong camera angles, old timey acting, and Hayes Code censorship. I don't know why more independent filmmakers don't go for this.

I haven't seen this film, but I think this is a great idea. Put lesser known stars in the film as well, or make the stars unnoticeable using makeup/costumes so there's really no way to tell when it was made.

I totally forgot that they already kind of did this with The Artist, by emulating silent cinema. So now what we need is someone to recreate a 1940s "Talkie."
