We need more movies like this.
Films made in the ideal of the Classic Hollywood, studio era productions of the 30s, 40s, 50s, and early 60s. This movie was a bold experiment, but they could have taken it a lot further by making it indistinguishable from the old classics.
Smaller aspect ratios, prominent staging, strong camera angles, old timey acting, and Hayes Code censorship. I don't know why more independent filmmakers don't go for this.
