This miniseries had a ton of potential, but ..

.. IMHO, it was the victim of an absolutely horrid editing job at the end.

They seemed so hellbent on making it fit into three nights, that the plot was a complete mess in the third installment. The editor completely butchered it.

Yeah i can see your point, it did feel kinda rushed in the end as if they needed an extra half hour or so to wrap it up properly. When they aired it here in Australia on the TV they actually chopped out some of the scenes so that they could fit it into 2 nights instead of 3.

I think this mini series was great! And I liked the end too, it didn't feel rushed to me... A few things could've been done differently but it's still good, I recommend it to sci-fi fans.

Even shot to shot it was badly edited. So boring, with unnecessary lags between the dialogue. Most scenes where something happened lacked tension. and the sound was really muted too.

I agree! Sonny Baskin - the editor of this miniseries, has also edited "The Lost Room" and "Kingdom Hospital". That came as a schock for me, cause the editing stood out for me on those three separate projects as well. Even before I knew the connection was Sonny (I JUST looked him up now). And now in hindsight the exact same amateurish mistakes is prevalent in all three projects. WOW! The man is terrible at his job! (the first that I have singled out an editor for doing a bad job).

Turns out that Lost was ultimately about a smokey and a sap who are bickering
