Worst remake?

Do you think this one of, if not the worst remakes? I'm talking about how it is so different from the first and has none of the spirit of the first. We can talk all day about Nightmare on Elm St, Willy Wonka, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Footloose, The Karate Kid, etc. etc..............but I think this takes the cake

The restored version of the original 1973 film staring Edward Woodward is a brilliant horror film and is quite believable in the way circumstances creep up on him.

But this remake is just a shocker. It's utterly unbelievable, over the top, none of the characters are remotely sympathetic and it's just plain weird in the worst possible way.

I totally agree, this was just horrible. I thought it was a bad movie even before I watched the original and then I was just flabberghasted. The only other that approaches the level that this achieved was the remake of The Fog.

I'd actually watch this movie over the 1998 Psycho remake any day. This one's at least good for a few laughs, particularly the last half hour, although I'm pretty sure that's not what the filmmakers were going for. The 1998 Psycho just had me scratching my head thinking "why?"

In a bizarre way I think it's kind of awesome.
