I like The Punisher War Zone (2008). I thought that is was the best of the three. It was ultraviolent and it was not lame like the second one. One issue I have with the movie is the insult to God. There is one scene where Frank Castle is in the Church with a Priest and he confronting his demons and the Priest tells Castle that he is not happy with all the killings Frank has committed. Frank is on the verge of suicide and he blames God for all his troubles. He has the gull to say that he would like to get his “hands on God’s throat” Now that statement he made is blasphemous and there is no way to argue otherwise. God is not at fault for the bad things that happen to us. Why blame God and not Satan? The Devil desires bad things to happen to people and he rejoices when tragic things happen. I am sure fundamental Christians would have a serious issue with that. They would object to that and the violence and strong profanity. This movie insults God on the highest level.

First of all, it's a movie. Most of it is people getting brutally murdered and you take issue with this one line?

Secondly, most people aren't religious these days and since we have more proof that there isn't likely a god, your point just seems medieval.

As an atheist, I could care less. If the movie insults you, don't watch it.

He's a character that obviously doesn't have a strong faith with god nor believes in his power, to the extent of others. So I don't understand why you are annoyed, he's a character. Does that mean you dislike movies like the characters in lord of the rings because they do not believe in christianity?

As an atheist, I do not get annoyed when people believe in god. Even Book of Eli i enjoyed, despite its "unconventional" use of religion.

What proof do have that says I don't care about the turmoil in the world. Do you really know me on a personal level to accuse of me of being heartless of the world affairs and label me a hypocrite. The truth is you don't know me so that makes a very ignorant person. I take your a fan of this movie and yet your reply does the Punisher great injustice.

1) It's a movie.
2) A character insulting God does not equal the film insulting God. Satan insults God in Passion of the Christ. Does that make it a blasphemous film?
3) It's pointless to blame Satan for bad things, as it's Christian teaching that God is infinitely stronger, in which case He would have no excuse for all the misery in the world, causing people like Frank to wonder why God would allow all he allows to happen.

it insults god because somehow this abomination somehow snuck past god and got made and released. it insults god. it insults the people who watched this movie. it insults the art of film directing, acting, and script/story writing. punisher war zone insults intelligence. punisher war zone is nothing but complete insult. most importantly it's an insult to marvel, since this disgrace is their lowest grossing film based on their property.

and thanks to this movie, I still don't see a new punisher film in development despite marvel studios now having the rights to make a punisher film.

Who cares if fundamentalists have an issue with it - or anything, for that matter. The very fact that they are fundamentalists means they are likely to be a banana short of a bunch and incapable of debating anything outside their restricted belief system. What a lame post, OP, what was your point?

Actively atheist - I don't have imaginary friends, supreme beings or otherwise.

You never know them all.

I find overly religious people fanatic sounding, like this op. Why do thumpers have to bring religion into anything. Ffs!! Obviously castle has issue with god after his family got slaughtered. Punisher is a morally conflicted character. Always has been.

I wish i had a little more insight into the atheist mind. I mean, i mean some start talking about the big bang, white dwarfs and blah blah blah. Trying to offer a scientific explanation but never take it deep enough. All that may be true, but someone created the cosmos for that to happen to begin with. Who made the first star,sun, whatever? Its not a what made, its a who made if u connect the dots. Personally, i think its rather ignorant to think we werent created by a higher power of some kind. Make no mistake about it! It wasnt a "what" that created us, it is a "who". Theres no other explanation. Even when space was just empty. A complete absence of anything, who created that canvas(space)?

BTW, that entire line was taken from an issue of the MAX comic series (Issue #44: Widowmaker part 2). Do some research.

Broken system =/= Gameplay.
