Would Freddie Prinze Jr. have done a better Jigsaw than Dominic West?

Been listening to the recent podcast with Lexi Alexander, and was surprised that Freddie auditioned for the part. After having seen him on 24 recently, I feel like he's been getting the shaft just because of the "Pretty Boy" roles he's been saddled with his entire career.

Broken system =/= Gameplay.

Can't play games with a broke system.

Anyone would have been a better Jigsaw than Dominic West, he hammed it so much it isn't even funny.

Which is what the director and Dominic West himself intended, I would think.

West went with the film makers's decision to make PUNISHER WAR ZONE "ridiculous" so they wouldn't "encourage another Columbine".

In a more down to earth, crime/revenge film, West would have done a great job.

Actually, West didn't want to be so hammy, but Lexi Alexander urged him to go over the top because that was the point of the film--absurd violence.

reply

I liked him hammy, I thought it was perfectly in line with the tone of the movie. I salute Lexi Alexander for making the movie she intended.

Considine nearly got the part. Would of boosted the films credibility no end.

John Goodman would have made a far more superior villain

Hard to say since I have only seen him in the 2002 Scooby Doo movie. Lions gate were fools for choosing someone who doesn't like the character.
