What are/were the real ctacombs used for in Paris?
I really have no idea what they are for and have never heardof them but the pictures look really creepy, so what are they used for?
I heard a guy got lost down there and that its some weird burial place but i don't know.

I think it is just a place where peoples bodies were just dumped ages ago because of a plague or something like that. I guess the plague was killing people at such a fast rate that they had no time to give people propper burials and there was no more room in the cemetary's so they just dumped the bodies down there. I am probably wrong about this, but this is what I think I have been told.

ive been down in the catacombes on my trip to Europe (and i went to Paris). i have pictures of them, only twelve though. They said that they are the bones of soldiers and stuff like that, but that's probably not all thats down there.
