I disagree with one part of your statement. Britney Spears should never be given a microphone, a video camera, a reality show, music contract, etc.

I can't wait to see this movie for two reasons: to see if Pink can act and just plain because I love scary movies! If she can't act, then oh well.

And I think Beyonce a good actor, I mean she's in Dreamgirls and she has an Oscar Nomination, of course Jennifer Hudson is getting more talk.

omg are you stupid, first of all bette midler and barb both started on the stage fyi, AND aaliyah, courtney suck at acting!!! Cher is amazing, i do agree with mandy, and brit about being bad actors, but Beyonce is amazing and she is going to show her stuff when she does dream girls... i cant believe you think alliyah was good, and you stupid

who are you to judge? you have your opinions and the other person has theirs, so you really shouldn't be calling them stupid just because you don't agree with them. Personally, i don't think that Courtney sucks,i like mandy moore and i don't like Beyonce...but thats just what i think...i'm not gonna call you stupid cause i don't agree and i think that's really unnecessary!

Personally, I think Beyonce could really use an acting couch. She is very green and all of her dialogue is in the same tone and IMHO she is really bad at showing ranges in emotion. However, I am a fan of her music.

I would err on the side that she CAN act.

Many of her videos are narrative (esp. "Stupid Girl"), although she tends to be comedic.

But, there is some life and energy in her personality, so I am giving her the benefit of the doubt.

too bad she backed out of the janis joplin film :(

rene zellweger is a fruit!(if you haven't heard, she thinks janis is going to be visiting her...hmmm) I think the only one fit to play the part of janis is pink because she can sing just like her...shes amazing (and isn't having episodes of granduer where janis joplin visits her).

she didn't back out of the janis film, it got offered to first britney spears and then some others, but pink was actually interested in doing that film. but yeah i agree she would have been amazing in it!

Pink was actually hired for the role of Janis back in 2004. She was the lead actress until scheduling conflicts came up. This movie was to start back in '04, but, because of script and financial issues, it kept getting pushed back. Pink backed out of the project in '06 because she had commitments to her own project. In the meantime, rumors surfaced that other actresses like Britney and Lindsay Lohan were being considered. I'm sure Pink's feathers were ruffled since she already had the role, but, the director wanted to start filming right away, which was now not condusive with Pink's commitments. It sounded like a major scheduling conflict that couldn't be worked out, unfortunately. From what I've read, Pink really wanted to portray Janis, as she's a real fan of this amazing woman. Pink may not be an "actress", but, I felt she had the emotion of her own experiences that paralelled Janis' in many ways. It would have been interesting. But, hey....it didn't work out that way. I just hope they make a great movie about this complicated, inspiring woman.

I'm also sad to hear that Pink backed out of the Janis Joplin movie. I could definitely have imagined her in that role - that raspy voice of hers would have been perfect. I mean, just listen to her song "Unwind" - not only for the awesome vocal, but because she wrote it ABOUT Janis Joplin!

i personally love pink, to no end, but in this movie, she will suck tremendously, it will be a low budget suckie horror film that not only wont show any of pinks acting ability, but will also get people to hate her for the roll she is in, because the only way people see her is as a demon child, and unfortuantely, that isnt how she wants to be viewed....hopefully it wont suck as much as i predict, pink has a great big personality, from the 2 times she was on the ellen show, i fell in love with her, they were both great. but, this movie....ugh

I love Pink too which is why I wrote this cool dark comedy film called (make me)Blush. I had an inclination of her talent nearly five years ago when I started writing it and I based the title character on her, thinking that she might dig it. I also think she MUST do comedy because she has a fantastic sense of humor and a dry and cutting wit that is endearing. She also cares so much about people and the world around her that I think anything she attempts will undoubtably be sincere and truthful (regardless of the end result of the movie, I will bet you she will shine in it)

I am not an industry insider. I'm just a writer and one-time producer from the East Coast so I have no idea what my chances are of making my litte $2 million art house film but I can only pray that things go my way and I am able to cast her in the role in my unique and powerful movie. (check me out on this site my one credit film is called Loved, alone) My main concern with not being able to get her is that no one would come close to filling her kick *ss boots!

By the way, I heard the movie does suck but that she's very good in it. I guess that was from someone who saw a sneak preview of the film.

good luck, your going to need it. I'm sick of reading peoples post about how much this movie sucked, all I know is I saw a screening about 2 months ago and it was awesome. They said they did a lot of re editing and I loved it. Pink was awesome in it and so was Shannyn Sassomon.

Good luck on your project! I hope you get her for the role. I love her dry and sarcastic sense of humor too, although I'm afraid it goes over people's heads sometimes:-) Especially in interviews where everything has to go so fast.

i watched the E true hollywood story of pink this morning and they said she was the firs choice. evidently the director thinks she can act. i guess we will just have to wait and see. i def. agree with the statement that britney spears should have never been given any type of media to showcase whatever you want to call what she does.
