Ending... what happened?

I was watching this on fear net today, and the tv freezes up at the last minute. Literally, the last minute. The last thing I see is Victoria's sister forcing her to look at Jean Michelle, and then it freezes up. What the heck happens after that? It's so irritating to see a movie and miss out on the last 60 seconds. Sigh.

reply

You didn't really miss much. Victoria went homicidal and killed them all because of all the trauma they'd put her through.

So that "My sister sent me a postcard. All it said was 'Come to Paris, it'll be good for you.' Forty-eight hours later, she and everyone I'd met were dead." at the beginning actually means that she killed them all.

reply

lol Thanks. It's irritating to miss the last minute... even in a bad movie :D

reply

yeah i thought she was dead that one time with that "monster"

That movie was SOO werid ahaha

This happened to us, too, when we tried to watch it on FEARnet, freezing at exactly the same spot. It was so infuriating because we'd grown to hate Victoria so much over the course of the movie, and it froze up just when it started to get good, i.e. Pink grabbing her by the hair and saying, "Look what you did!" like you'd punish a dog for vomiting on the carpet. Oh man.

reply

She was rather irritating, wasn't she?

reply

congrats on missing the best part of this movie...

shannyn covered in blood after hackin that b**tch up...

i dont know why this movie gets such a bad rap, its better then the descent, wtf were those inbred bat person monster dero things anyway. sheesh. watch marebito

The Descent... a masterpiece?
Well if you call the scrapings of a dirtied toilet bowl a masterpiece then sure. Otherwise GTFO.

Will not feed the troll.

The ending was actually the best part of the whole movie. I just didn't expected that to happen, great ending imo.

Just Enjoy

Spoiler:

The movie ended with a "it was just a prank" ending, so she killed everyone. Which is completely unsatisfying. It has the same story impact of ending on "it was all a dream".

Did anyone else think all the characters were just unrealistically mean to the main girl? Who really acts like that? The main character was such a wuss too, crying and screaming and getting made fun of. By the time she finally did something, it was too late, no one cared.

I thought everyone was super mean to her. She was sort of a pathetic person and it was irritating, but maybe one would act that scared and timid if they were treated like crap and picked on all of the time. It would have made more sense if they had shown something that made Victoria like that--an origin for her fears might have made her a bit more sympathetic. And, if she had been younger. I mean--she seems to be like 25 or 26...I'd buy it more if she were fresh out of highschool, or having a bad term in uni or something.

In my version, she would have been a victim of a mugging or rape on campus...and took a semester off, which would be why her sister invited her to Paris. I would have written the sister a bit kinder--gruff and tough, perhaps, but truly intending hte best iwth her misguided attempt to cure her sister's phobias.

Also, I don't know much about the catacombs, really, but I have been to the part that is open legally to tourists and I have seen footage of the off limits catacombs on tv. I don't think there are swimming holes and vaulted ceilings in it.

reply

No joke she killed everyone! She was mentally fragile and her horrible sister put her through that? She literally made the choice to leave a man to die. So she'd already committed a murder in a way. Moral of this story: don't pull a psychedelic prank on a mentally fragile person.

reply

This was a god-awful film. If I could wish that two hours of life back I would. The ending was just the final turd to an already steaming pile of crap. I can at least enjoy most horror movies that I've seen (and that's a lot), and this really was straight-up terrible, from the acting to the overlong, redundant plot "twists." If Fearnet every decides to make another "original picture," they had better take the time to think it through. Ugh.

reply

Editing was bad too, really slow paced and boring.

i liked the twist ending. you know there is a killer since in the beginning, she says:"in 48 hours, everyone i met would be dead".

she's running for her life in the catacombs.

and then *she* ends up being the killer. i didn't see that coming.

great!

i was just wondering how she would pay for the taxi and board the airplane without money, tickets or a passport. (she had no pocketbook with her).

reply

The editing was in fact god awful, and a lot more probs then the pacing. It was the worst editing i've seen in a looooong time. The timing and the sequence of shots used was god awful and grating. Anyhowl...

WTF, the rest of that posse just stood there and let that little girl kill them with a pick axe? That big black guy too? Please.

It was a dire ending to a crock of vomit film:

"It was all a prank! A joke... a prank. Hey sister who I despise, under extreme stress and provocation you killed a French twit!"
"I hate you, I hate you, crikey... I'm dead"
4 for French fellas:
"What's going on... oh look, with only minutes to react we've somehow been killed by a stick insect"
*
"Taxi driver - please take me to the airport, sorry i've no money or passport and I'm covered in six people's blood..."

reply

"What's going on... oh look, with only minutes to react we've somehow been killed by a stick insect"
... a stick insect, so true. I want that as my sig, Londinieres.

This was not a good film. I didn't feel the menace, I felt the boredom

The big black guy was running to Carolyn in shock, and didn't see the axe coming towards his head. I agree with the poster who was impressed with the twist.

reply

The only people of Carolyn's group who I viewed as jerks are Carolyn herself and those two guys who scared Victoria when with a mask when she and Carolyn first arrived at the apartment. Other than those three, the rest of the group were just having fun by going through an initiation ritual/hazing prank played on at least some of the people who went to the party (i.e. that blonde chick that was caught by the goat-mask guy at the very beginning of the movie.).

As for Victoria herself, while I do agree that she was turning into a whiny annoyance before and during the end, it should be stated that she was on medication and was going through a lot of stress and is strung out throughout the film. Under these circumstances, she wouldn't of been in her right mind, and perhaps could explain why she inexplicably decides to head to the airport in the taxi rather than clean up and get the ticket at the apartment.

Welcome to my Nightmare- Freddy Krueger

reply

ok, but I think you are being to literal here.
first off, just because she says airport, doesn't mean she could have not
stopped somewhere and cleaned up. also, she could have put all her
important stuff in those lockers at the airport, which is where
someone who is that worrisome and high strung would do. its whats I would do,lol,
have a copy of my passport and money in a airport locker, and hide the key somewhere.
I also do put my car keys up on my tire when I go certain
places, I want to be able to get the heck out of somewhere, even if
I am naked or something, I am always prepared, and paranoid, lol

now, about the other guys not being a-holes, they are all just as bad as the
sister. none tried to help when she wondered off except the sister.
and about the hazing, to me anybody who hazes someone should
be smashed with a pickax, cause to me that's just f-ing evil.
any hazing is evil in spirit. unless I join the marines, then
I shouldn't have to deal with that crap..

I was so glad when Shannon killed Pink and the entire group with that pick axe. lesson here is do not scare some one to near death with a terrible prank. do NOT talk down to victim of said prank while she is holding a weapon
