SPOLIERS Why Did He Have A Map?

Ok i get that this whole thing was a prank, and the reasons behind it. But if they were trying to break Victoria into being brave and getting over all her fears, why did that guy Henry turn up with a map??
Was he part of the prank?? Or did he not know what was going on, and genuinely got stuck in the catacombs too??
It just seems a bit silly that they would make her fend for herself alone in the catacombs and then send someone in who has a map??? Seems to defeat the object a bit.
Confused!!

Well I don't think Henry was a stand in for the prank because if you noticed, they didn't ask for him when they caught up to Victoria. Henry was a smart dude for trying to plan ahead just in case the catacops came in and busted up the party and he ended up lost which was what had happened and just to also add in, by thinking back to leaving him to most likely not be found ever again (alive that is)because she thought it was real thus making him an unintended sacrificial lamb to that stupid prank and added with her stupid sister's insensitive and selfish attitude which was shown through the whole movie made her snap.

srsly, what a horrible person the sister is! The catacombs are a dangerous place..not a place to stick a high strung person with obvious mental disorders, as a joke! It's not like they locked her in a deserted amusement park or a faux-haunted house!

at least the amusement park would have maps XD

but yeah, the sister was pretty horrible. And she started blaming her for killing the guy...

I would say Henry was just part of the party and he got lost after everyone scattered when the cops showed up. I was thinking maybe he wasn't Parisian so he happened to have a map. I usually keep a map on me whenever I visit out of town places.

why did victoria give up and leave him there? was the walkway too unstable and she was afraid to get too close because it might cave in?

at least i thought she would mark the walls in order to find him again.

speaking of marking the walls, what was the significance of the red arrows saying 'turn here'? who created them? where were they leading?

This is 6 years late but there is the fact that she weighs about 12 lbs and probably couldnt pull him up anyway.
