GROUNDBREAKING visual effects!

I'm surprised that this movie is so often overlooked when people are giving examples of topnotch CGI effects. IMO the effects used to create this RV and so many lovely animals is of the same caliber (if not HIGHER) than that of optimus prime (leader of the autobots, for everyone who's been living under a ROCK for ten years!!), the decepticons, and so many various transforming apparatuses..

It's staggering to believe that this movie was shot entirely on green screen in only a span of 12 days. This is clearly the wave of the future for film making (digital cinema especially.), and it saddens me deeply to see it not acknowledged by the snobby Hollywood elites.

I did have some suspicions while watching the film that the lighting wasn't quite right in some scenes, but was easy to put of the mind and enjoy it. (I can't help it sometimes.) Then in the goofs and extra material on the DVD, they showed the extent to which the green screen was used and I must say I was very impressed! They did it very well.

The tell tale sign of this, is the sky. It's way too blue(obviously an aesthetical choice). I didn't know it was shot entirely on green screen though and doubt that it was.The stuff inside the van is definatly shot against green screen.

Do you have anywhere with more info on this?

It was definitely not shot entirely on green screen... because they shot on a highway near my house and I drove through the set a few times. I think the parts inside the RV were shot on green screen, but other areas of the film were not.

I kinda hope you're using hyperbole when you say it is the same caliber as Transformers. The extreme complexity of the transformers in CGI is mind boggling. While it is good work in this movie, and I didn't realize it was so extensively green screen, it doesn't hold a candle to what they did in Transformers.
