Why does "dad" (Robin Williams) refer to his daughter as "Sacajawea" (in the second scene of the movie before they're picking up Gretchen)?

a reference to the GPS- that the daughter knows the way better...he thinks she is like sacajawea- the Indian Guide to Lewis and Clark, the explorers.

Robin williams i forgive him he didn t.mean anything by it i thought it was funny him calling his daughter.sacajawea robin is anglo he,s scottish irish french german welsh some native american african so is he going to talk about her
