How does this get a Imdb rating of 7.4?

The only episode with comparable rating is Cigarette Burns at 7.5.
The majority of episodes have a 6.x rating, and season 2 is half 5.x ratings!

Does IMDB amalgamate the ratings per episode into the rating the series?
