I was a watching this episode under the influence of alcohol and I was a little confuse like how is Edgar's wife keeps coming back alive and things happening like when he destroyed the piano only for it to reappear in perfect condition? It's like this guy is transferred to another parrallel dimension or something..

Can someone care to explain?

As I recall, everything was a dream which inspired him to write the story with the same name.

The way things became destroyed and reappeared intact (or alive) is part of what made the episode horrific. Thank goodness it was an awful vision (dream) within Poe's mind!
