why this series last only two seasons?

Watched it first time the other day and found it quite interesting. Its a shame nothing else has come of it since 2007.

listen, I just read a post of yours from like 2 years ago, and I don't know if you get emails for replies, so I stalked you to here, lol, just wanted to know if you ever watched "episode 50" movie, cause it is nothing like "grave encounters", lol. grave encounters was actually really creepy. I just watched it like 2 weeks ago, and just skimmed through episode 50 tonight. dont know how episode 50 could be a "found footage" when there is like a "3rd camera".
I liked grave encounters for the fact that they couldn't get out, and the exit kept changing, like a nightmare. the first time they noticed it was like 11am, and still dark outside, pretty creepy. anyway, lol, bye...

There is a third season, but it was renamed "Fear Itself" and not broadcast on Showtime. It switched to NBC randomly.

The third season included works from Brad Anderson, Victor Salva, Brad Anderson, Stuart Gordon, Mary Harmon, John Landis and Ronny Yu.

Surprise!

reply

You included Brad Anderson twice in your list ;)

To me that doesn't really count as a third season to MOH, it's a different show if it's on another channel and under a different title especially on NBC where they have less liberty, explicit content wise. It's Tales/Crypt compared to Tales/Darkside, same concept different show.

Mostly because they sucked ha there were some gems, but most of them were not any good.

It went to nbc to appeal to a wider audiance. It was actually quite good, I loved the episode "new years day" (I believe that was it's title.) Also "skin and bones", about the yeti legend was very *beep* good and creepy. Don't listen to some other posters on here who give the unofficial 3rd season *beep* it is good and if you liked MOH you will like it also.

It is a shame.... this was an excellent horror series in a format that nobdody does any more.
I thought apart from a handful of poor episodes, most of these were very good.

It's a shame there's nothing like this any more.

I watched all of the old Twilight Zones a while back and I just feel we really need a good anthology series again... creepy/sci-fi/supernatural/horror.

Would be good

I remember finding out about this a few years ago. I bought a bargain bin DVD called We All Scream For Ice Scream (cream?) After getting it home and looking more closely at the back of the case, I read that it was from a series called Masters of Horror. Never heard of it! I did check it out on IMDb, but I forgot about it until last night. I was looking at the horror movies on the Roku Channel. They have it there if anyone is interested.

I thought it was because producer Mick Garris was able to assemble a group of his fellow horror film directors. They're not going to give giving their talent away. It was a nice series and one I'm interested in watching again.

If you ask me, the greatest horror director could be Jesus and his wrath upon the fallen world for their sins when he returns. It's suppose to be a surprise ending that even the believers have to be ready for. That said, if the atheists and their scientists are right, then what do you have to worry or fear about? Oh yeah, the large asteroid that going to hit Earth or AGW.

reply

It's a shame it didn't last longer.

It was great seeing a bunch of legendary Horror directors given freedom to work.

It’s a shame it was not written better. I quickly tired of it.
